BCM introduces BI160-1900J, a compact fanless Industrial Computer built with Intel Celeron J1900 quad-core processor for industrial automation, transportation, digital signage, retail POS and kiosk
The Performance
BCM BI160-1900J is a low power high performance fanless industrial computer built with Intel Celeron J1900 quad-core processor platform, codenamed Intel BayTrail-D, with integrated Intel® HD graphics and capable of playing multiple full HD video formats while delivering dual display content via VGA and HDMI outputs. One SODIMM socket is provided to support DDR3L-1333 MT/T SODIMM memory modules up to 8 GB. This small box computer provides rich external I/O interfaces, dual display, USB 3.0 and a high reliability rugged chassis for enhanced protection required by many industrial applications.
Rich External I/O Interfaces
The BI160-1900J measures a small 8.27” x 1.38” x 5.3” (210 x 35 x 135mm) that is slightly larger than a palm size. The computer is slim and compact; however it does provide rich external I/O interfaces by maximizing the I/O capabilities provided by the motherboard.
An external GPIO connector is provided supporting up to 8 channel programmable DI/DO inputs.
The computer provides four built-in COM ports including 2 x RS-232/422/485 and 2 x RS-232 serial ports which enable a mechanism for transmitting data up to 10 Mbits/sec. The RS-232/422/485 COM ports enable daisy-chain communication supporting up to 32 devices while retaining energy-efficient operation for vertical markets.
Expansion and Storage
The BI160-1900J provides two Mini PCI Express sockets for supporting Wi-Fi, 3G or Bluetooth modules. Two cut-outs for antennas are provided on the rear panel of the chassis when Wi-Fi function is required. The computer also provides a storage bay to support a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive. Additional mSATA SSD storage is enabled the through Mini PCIe socket.

The fanless cooling designed, built-in rich I/O, and space-saving features make the BCM BI160-1900J an ideal solution for various industrial applications such as industrial control terminals, transportation fleet management systems, factory production machines, retail Kiosks, and digital signage.
