The MX690E2 features RS690E and SB600 chipsets with the AM2 Socket supports AMD® Athlon™ 64, Athlon™ 64 FX X2, Sempron™ processors with FSB 2000 MHz Hyper Transport with 200/400/600/800/1000 MHz. The RS690E chipset integrates ATI Radeon™ Xpress 1250 intensive graphic chipset which delivers vibrant images and smooth video playback and provides triple horsepower of graphic and video performance for the most demanding 3D games, multimedia applications and the Windows Vista™ operation system. This motherboard also supports dual display through onboard DVI + LVDS, DVI + CRT or LVDS + CRT connectors and provides maximum resolution up to 2560 x 1440 bpp. HDMI is supported through the add-on card via the PCI slot.

The MX690E2 provides two SO-DIMM sockets supporting up to 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM 400/533/667/800 MHz. The onboard expansions include one PCI slot, one Mini PCI Express slot and one Compact Flash socket. The onboard IO connectors include six USB 2.0, four COM ports, two SATA, VGA, DVI, LVDS, DIO, Gigabit LAN, 3 jacks high definition audio ports, K/B and Mouse, IDE, 5W audio amplifier. This board supports Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs) function via onboard header for security features.
