BCM's new MX945GSE Mini ITX motherboard is designed on the Intel Navy Pier platform. This small form factor board is built with the space-saving Intel Atom Low Power N270 1.6 GHz Fanless processor (CPU onboard) and the Mobile Intel 945GSE/ICH7M chipset architecture. The most important feature of the Intel Navy Pier platform is the 2.5W low-power CPU. It features Hyper-Threading Technology which increases system responsiveness while operating in multi-tasking environments. The Mobile Intel 945GSE chipset features an integrated 3D graphic engine based on the Intel GMA 950 architecture and delivers sophisticated graphics for large display or dual display applications via the VGA, LVDS and DVI (custom design) interfaces.
Besides the outstanding performances provided by the Intel Navy Pier platform, the MX945GSE industrial Mini ITX has rich I/O capabilities including one PCI for an additional add-on card; one Mini PCI Express for a wireless adapter; Realtek® ALC888 8 Channel High-Definition Audio Interface; dual Intel 82574L Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports; six USB connectors, a VGA port, an onboard LVDS connector supporting 18/24-bit Dual Channel LVDS; two SATA connectors; an LPT connector; an IDE connector; two COM ports and an optional four additional COM ports.
The MX945GSE has a life cycle of up to seven years, and is power-optimized, noise-reduced, delivers exceptional performance-per-watt, and provides power-efficient graphics. This combination is perfect for cost-saving embedded solutions such as Interactive Clients, Kiosk, Point-of-Sale Terminals (POS), ATM machines, Digital Signage, Digital Security, Print Imaging System, Medical Equipments, Commercial and Industrial Control Systems and Residential Gateways.
In addition to the MX945GSE Mini ITX, BCM’s BI250-945GSE Mini ITX system integrates the Navy Pier platform Mini ITX motherboard into a compact-sized slim chassis measuring 7.09 x 7.09 x 1.94 cubic inches and weighs only approximately 1.45 pounds. This is a fanless operated mini computer, powered by DC input instead of an ATX power input. The BI250-945GSE offers one Mini PCI Express, one COM port, one DVI port, four USB ports, one Gigabit Ethernet port, HD audio interface and one 2.5” hard drive bay.
The BI250-945GSE mini computer can be installed as a panel PC or desktop system via our customized VESA mount bracket for space-saving environments such as front desk check-in/check-out station, POS stations for small retail stores, library information stations or entertainment terminals at patient wards in hospitals. The BI250-945GSE can also be used for medical applications such as a diagnostic instrument or portable ultrasound device which enables doctors to hand carry diagnostic tools or data reports to the patients.
