BCM is proud to announce the release of the ETX SOM85X series of products, the newest addition to our family of revision controlled, long life cycle motherboards and controllers. These extremely small foot print boards, just 4.50” X 3.75” in size, utilize the Intel® 85x GMCH and 82801DB ICH4 I/O Control Hub chipset architecture.

The SOM852 is equipped with an on board 600 MHz Celeron M processor, whereas the SOM855 will support Intel® Pentium® M/Celeron® M processors. The SOM85X series also has a 400 MHz FSB and supports up to 1GB of DDR RAM. Additionally, the SOM85x products feature a LAN controller, 2 IDE channels for up to 4 IDE devices, 4 USB 2.0/1.1 ports, CRT and Dual Channel LVDS support and 2 serial ports. The SOM85x series of products are ideal for embedded applications where power usage, size, performance and reliability are crucial issues.

The SOM85x series products can be used in various markets, such as the Industrial Automation, Military, Security and Medical Equipments as well as the Gaming Machines. The advantages of the Pentium M ETX modules include Quick Time-to-Market solutions, Space-saving form factor, Low power consumption and ease of future upgrades.
