The Intel® Atom™ D2550 processor was released in Q2 2010, and unlike the other Atom™ series, the D2550 is the first Atom™ processor designed to support DDR3 SDRAM and runs at a faster speed of 1.86 GHz while still maintaining the same low power consumption and attractive price point. The new two-chip architecture affords easier routing and better heat flow and reduces the package footprint on the BCM motherboard by 70-80 percent. BCM has capitalized on the Atom™ D2550 by creating a new line of all-in-one computers with both the 18 inch wide screen (PPC18W-255D) and the 15 inch (PPC15-255D) LCD monitor with resistive touch capability. Both products feature two Mini PCIe expansion slots and one Compact Flash socket; while supporting VGA as the secondary display. Both panel PCs run on 12V DC power with fanless operation and provide optional WiFi through an 802.11 Module.
