History of BCM

 
2011 May 17, 2011 BCM announced the purchase of a new facility in Irvine, Southern California.   The new facility, located at 11 Chrysler in the heart of the Irvine Spectrum technology sector, will provide twice the engineer laboratory square footage of BCM’s current Irvine facility.  

BCM moved to the new facility located at 11 Chrysler building since Nov. 4, 2011.

2010 BCM is promoted to Associate status within the Intel® ECA program. Click for detail

2010 June 8, 2010 BCM Advanced Research and Avalue Technologies complete the IPO process and begin trading on the Taiwan Stock Exchange under the ticker number 3479 completing the goal of going public set in 2006 with the merger of the two companies.

2010 BCM shows strong growth in a recessionary economy with sustained revenue growth and record new custom OEM design wins in 2009.

2008 BCM expands US operations moving into 20,000 sq. ft. facility located at 7 Marconi, Irvine, CA.

2007 BCM enters into distribution agreement with Arrow Electronics completing a distribution triad with Arrow, Avnet, and Bell Microproducts.

2007 BCM is promoted to Affiliate status within the Intel® ECA program.

2006 BCM merges operations with Avalue Technology, Inc. to combine engineering resources and pool purchasing power creating one of Taiwan’s top embedded/industrial board and system providers while maintaining a two brand strategy. The BCM brand to focus on both the low-cost volume industrial markets such as Gaming, POS, Kiosk, and Medical Systems and the Avalue brand catering to a broader embedded offering plus specialized embedded markets.

2005 BCM pioneers “industrial motherboard” market as a cost effective alternative to traditional embedded SBCs by providing core embedded requirements such as extended lifecycles, revision control, and customization hooked to mainstream PC form factors like uATX and ATX significantly driving down costs by leveraging the PC market while driving up adoption rates through affordability.

2005 BCM Taipei Asia sales branch established to focus on burgeoning Asia market.

2004 BCM becomes an Intel® ICA Partner (currently called ECA).

2000 BCM separates from GVC as a result of GVC’s acquisition by Lite-On Corporation.  BCM becomes an independent company changing focus from consumer PC boards to embedded motherboard design and manufacturing focusing on the growing demand for x86 computing power for non-personal computer equipment (embedded PC industry).

1996 BCM becomes a key board designer for six of the top ten brand name PC companies in the USA.  To meet manufacturing capacity demand BCM merges with one of Taiwan’s top PCBA board manufacturers GVC Corporation with world class manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, Mainland China, Philippines and North America.

1990 BCM Advanced Research was founded in April 1990 in Southern California providing custom motherboard designs for the fast growing PC market. In the same year, BCM factory was also established in Tao-Yuan, Taiwan.
